Clemence D. Kim serves as an Associate at Mowry & Grimson PLLC, representing clients in trade remedy actions including antidumping and countervailing duty matters as well as customs and other trade enforcement issues.
Prior to joining Mowry & Grimson, Mr. Kim worked as an associate at a boutique international trade law firm in Washington D.C. He also served at the State of California Department of Justice’s Antitrust division as a law clerk, where he worked on investigations of several international pharmaceutical companies for pay-for delay deals.
During law school, Mr. Kim served as the Dean’s Fellow for the Trade, Investment, and Development program. He researched and wrote on various trade policy and enforcement issues from China’s transparency obligations analysis to COVID-19 Intellectual Property waiver issues. Mr. Kim also had the opportunity to participate in the Glushko-Samuelson Intellectual Property Clinic where he successfully obtained USPTO Trademark for clients. He also served as the Associate Executive Editor of the Journal for Gender, Social Policy and Law (Law Review).
Currently, Mr. Kim teaches LLM Legal Writing and Research at the American University Washington College of Law as an Adjunct Assistant Professor and coaches the John H. Jackson WTO Moot Court Competition Team.
In his free time, he can be found birdwatching, illustrating, or playing soccer around the DMV area.
