Kavita Mohan is an international trade attorney with 20 years of experience handling a wide range of complex international trade law and policy matters. A seasoned litigator, she has obtained precedent-setting decisions at the Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit and multiple favorable decisions at the Court of International Trade. She has successfully represented importers, producers, and governments at all stages of antidumping (AD) and countervailing (CVD) duty proceedings before the U.S. Department of Commerce and the U.S. International Trade Commission. Kavita also frequently advises clients on scope issues and has obtained scope exclusions on products across multiple industries, saving her clients millions of dollars.

Prior to joining Mowry & Grimson, Kavita worked with another international trade law boutique. She also previously was an Associate at a top 100 law firm. Kavita started her career at the U.S. Department of Commerce’s International Trade Administration. She first served as an Analyst conducting AD/CVD investigations and reviews. She later served as an India Desk Officer, working on U.S.-India trade policy matters.

Kavita has authored multiple articles on issues related to U.S. politics and international trade and has spoken on these topics for webinars and at conferences. She served as a Vice-Chair of the South Asia & Oceania Committee of the American Bar Association for over 12 years. She also currently serves as a member of the Board for the Montgomery County Public Library System in Maryland. 

Kavita was selected to the Washington, D.C., Super Lawyers list in 2023 and 2024. Kavita was previously selected as a Washington, D.C., “Rising Star” by Super Lawyers in 2014, 2016, 2018, and 2019.
