Sarah M. Wyss is a hands-on advocate for her clients practicing international trade law with a focus on trade remedies, safeguards, and the enforcement of customs law.  Ms. Wyss guides her clients through complex investigations and litigation involving antidumping and countervailing duties and also provides clients with forward-looking strategic advice related to customs compliance, responsible trade and product safety. She serves large and small companies across a wide range of industry sectors including consumer goods, chemicals, electronics, steel and wood products.

Ms. Wyss represents clients at a variety of federal and international agencies.  She has appeared frequently at the U.S. International Trade Commission and U.S. Department of Commerce on antidumping and countervailing duty matters as well as on the appeal of such cases at the U.S. Court of International Trade and Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit. She has also assisted in foreign government appeals to the World Trade Organization Dispute Settlement Body. She provides practical support to clients on a variety of customs issues, including securing duty refunds, protesting incorrectly liquidated imports, responding to seizures, and advising on the country of origin and classification of imported products.  She works with companies to determine eligibility for duty savings and exclusions under a variety of tariff regimes including tariffs imposed under Section 301 and Section 232.  In the responsible trade and product safety area, Ms. Wyss has significant expertise on compliance with labor and environmental restrictions on U.S. imports.  She also advises U.S. importers and retailers on their product safety obligations under the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Act and guides clients through product recalls when necessary.

Prior to joining Mowry & Grimson, Ms. Wyss worked in private practice in a boutique international trade firm. Before entering legal practice, Ms. Wyss worked in the non-profit sector on international development and health issues for a U.S. Agency for International Development contractor.
